Terminology Guide

Definitions of key terms used in the Wavqelori system and on this website, to assist users in understanding how the platform is described and how it operates.

Understanding Wavqelori's terminology

The terms below appear throughout the Wavqelori website and within the review interface. Each entry gives the term as it is used in this context and a brief explanation of what it means in practice. Where a term carries a specific technical meaning in the system, that meaning is noted.

System and process terms

Collection
A set of digital information items submitted to the Wavqelori system for processing. A collection is the unit of input. All items in a collection are processed together under the same classification and sorting configuration active at the time of submission.
Classification
The process by which each item in a collection is assigned to a category. Classification in Wavqelori is rule-based: items are evaluated against defined criteria, and the best-matching category is selected. Classification does not involve judgment about an item's quality or significance.
Category
A named grouping defined within the system's configuration. Categories represent the set of possible classifications for items in a collection. The available categories for a given access arrangement are established when that arrangement is configured and apply consistently to all collections processed under it.
Attribute
A property of an individual item, such as a text value, date, identifier, or other structured field. Attributes are extracted from items during the attribute extraction stage and are used to determine which category an item should be assigned to. Attributes are read from the submitted content; they are not generated by the system.
Sorting rule
A defined criterion used to order items within a category after classification. Sorting rules specify which attribute is used for ordering and whether the order is ascending or descending. The same sorting rule set is applied to all categories in a given configuration.
Unmatched item
An item that could not be assigned to any defined category during classification. Unmatched items are collected separately for review. The review interface provides access to the attributes that were evaluated during the classification attempt, to assist users in understanding why the item was not matched.
Review interface
The web-based environment through which users access and review a classified and sorted collection. The review interface is the primary point of interaction with the system's output. It provides category navigation, individual item detail views, a collection summary, and access to the unmatched item area.
Collection summary
A report available within the review interface that shows the number of items in each category and the total item count for the collection. The summary gives a high-level picture of the collection's composition without requiring category-by-category review.
Configuration
The set of parameters that determines how the system classifies and sorts collections at a given time. Configuration includes the defined categories, classification criteria for each category, and sorting rules. Configuration is applied at the system level and affects all collections processed under it.
Access arrangement
A confirmed agreement between Wavqelori Systems Pty Ltd and an enquirer that provides the enquirer with access to the Wavqelori review interface and the ability to submit collections for processing. Access arrangements are established through the enquiry process and are documented separately from this website.

Terms used in the review interface

Category navigation panel
A persistent list of all categories in the current collection, displayed in the review interface. Selecting a category from this panel brings its sorted items into the main view. The panel indicates which category is currently active.
Item detail view
An expanded display of an individual item's content and attributes, accessible from within the category list. The item detail view shows the attributes evaluated during classification alongside the item's full content, making it easier to understand why a particular assignment was made.
Sort order reference
A reference panel within the review interface that documents the sorting criteria applied to the current collection. This panel is informational; it does not provide controls for changing the sort order.
Enquiry link
A link within the review interface that opens the Wavqelori enquiry channel, enabling users to contact the support team directly from within the review environment. This is the recommended route for reporting unexpected classification results or requesting configuration changes.
